Happy Halloween!

HaPpY HaLLoWeeN!

I have always loved Halloween it is one of my favorite holidays… I really hope it doesn’t rain all day tomorrow… today would have been just perfect.  Oh, just in case anyone has peanut allergies I would not mine taking your Reese Peanut-butter Cups or peanut M&M’s off your hands (my favorites).

Please be safe and enjoy all the candy!

Students are allowed to wear jeans tomorrow and are encouraged to wear orange and/or black.

I thought conferences went very well and I appreciate all the parents that came in and talked to me especially those that I have not seen before.  If you did not see me and really feel you need to please let me know and we can set something up.

All Saints Mass is Friday.

The 8th Grade test on Chapter 15 "Earthquakes & Volcanoes" is Tuesday (Nov.5th) now.

My professor showed this YouTube clip in my last class and I found it very inspiring and empowering; please take the time to check it out.  I hope you agree.

Go Blue! Beat Sparty this weekend!

I am afraid that Ms. Surma is just going to have to wear maize & blue once again on the next jeans day when Michigan beats up on State Saturday.  This is our annual bet that we do… the kids get a real kick out of it.

10th Week of School

Not a very good week for local sports, huh? Tigers get eliminated from the playoffs & Lions lose with a last second 53 yard field goal.  Well, at least Michigan won & wow did they put up some serious points!  They get Sparty in two weeks.

I also really thought the MS Dance was a success, the kids were great & acted very mature; teachers very very impressed overall.

"What does a Fox say?"

The second quarter starts tomorrow.

Parent/Teacher Conferences are next week Monday (28th) & Tuesday (29th).  Please out of respect of parents waiting try to keep conferences no more then 10 minutes.

There is also a 6th grade & 7th grade unit test this Thursday (24th).  Since the 6th grade test has a lot of information along with supplement material; I am going split up their test for two days; Thursday & Friday.  So Sections 1-2 will be Thursday & then Sections 3-4 will be Friday. I think that is fair.

The 8th grade most likely will be on the 31st. We are learning how to measure waves this week.

All the power points are on Edline.

6th grade chaperones for YMCA Storer please get your $50.00 deposit in ASAP.

Over 2,100 views.

9th Week of School

Well, except for Michigan and the Tigers choking I had a wonderfully relaxing weekend upnorth, the changing of the leaves were gorgeous and we couldn’t have asked for better weather.  We even worked on my nephew's very cool treehouse.  (see pic below)

There is a Half-Day this Friday & a $1.00 Jeans Day.  There is also a Middle School Dance this Friday from 7:00-9:00 PM in the gym, its $5.00.
I should also have the list of chaperones for YMCA Storer Camp in May announced by the end of the week

This is the last week for my Study Skills Workshop as well.

The quarter ends Friday and Parent/Teacher Conferences will be on the 28th & 29th.  Hope to see as many of you as I can.

I have scheduled a unit test for 7th & 6th grade next Thursday.  The 8th grade test I am possibly looking the 31st.

 Go Tigers, Beat Boston today!

There is a $1.00 Jeans Day this Friday for money to be donated to for one of our 6th graders that needs a kidney transplant.
