2nd Week of School

Alas, I will not be in school Monday or Tuesday… I broke my wrist and forearm after having a nasty fall on my bike earlier today.  I have to get fitted for a cast.  This is my first ever break.  I have already set up a guest teacher and will have appropriate lesson plans.

Picture Day is this Wednesday, along with Parent Orientation later that evening.

I am having a special screening of my “First Day of School” DVD after school on Thursday for any parent that wants to see it (ask your kids about it… it may not be Oscar nominated, but it is pretty good).

I will post the science experiment calendar this week.

If you have not done the Remind 101 App… please sign-up for that as soon as possible.

All science text books need to be covered before Labor Day Weekend.

Study Skills Workshops begin September 1st

Would you think any other color? Besides it brings out my eyes. Go Blue!

First Day of School

Welcome back to another great year here at St. Frances Cabrini.  Our first day of school is tomorrow.  Wow! Also, beware it is a noon dismissal.  I look forward to seeing all of you… can’t wait!  I have been working hard getting my classroom ready and am excited for you to see the changes I made. You should have already received my syllabus, but if not it will be available tomorrow.  I will be showing my “First Day of School” DVD that I showed last year Wednesday, along with distributing books then.  Please be advised for 7th and 8th grades you will be signing up on the science experiment calendar this week too.

Remind 101 App New School Year

Dear Parents & Students:
I hope everyone is enjoying their summer vacation… August 18th will be here before you know it.  I am getting more and more ready for school a little bit each day.  Therefore, most of you who know me, know that I believe in open good communication especially with parents.  I say the more the better so along with Edline, my blog and Power Points I am continuing the Remind 101 app.

Please go to the these websites http://www.remind.com/join/0b3a9 (if you have a child in 7th grade) or http://www.remind.com/join/4f217 (if you have a child in in 8th grade) and then join by following their directions (it’s free & simple!).

If you did this last year I already transferred you to the 8th grade class so you DO NOT have too do it again. (you already received a text) You will receive updates via text message on your smart phone from me about what’s going in the class.  For example if there is a test the next day I will send you a group text or if I need certain supplies for my class, etc. etc.… it’s perfectly safe and not only can parents do it, but students as well.  I can send group texts to individual grades 8th and/or 7th or everyone that joins.  It's a lot of fun.  However, you can not reply to me... as always my e-mail dkerrcms@yahoo.com is the best way to get a hold of me.  I highly recommend that you register for the Remind 101 app as soon as possible.   I will remind you again when school starts.
