1st Week of School Continued...
We
survived our first full day of school today… students saw my award winning “First
Day of School” video, learned how to cover a text book and received their text
books. Tomorrow we will be using the
chrome books and all students will pull up Plus Portals, my blog and register
for the Remind 101 app (if they have a cell phone). This should take the whole class period. Then Thursday we will sign-up for all the
dates on our Science Experiment Calendar then I will post that on this blog. Here are a few pics of what the science lab looks like.

1st Week of School
The new school year starts this Monday August 22nd (½
Day)… I am looking forward to seeing everyone.
I am seeing lots of new names on my class lists so that is
exciting. A couple things I need to
express before school starts… besides August 24th being Picture Day
I would like ALL my 7th and 8th graders to bring their
cell phones to my class (if they have them).
I am doing something else new… the chrome books will be in my room that
day and students are going to register and/or re-register for the Remind 101
App. I figure let’s get that out of the
way right away and that way there is no excuse for not doing it. Students feel free to do this prior. Also, “Meet the Teacher Night” is August 31st;
I will NOT be there I have a prior commitment so for many parents you already
know me, but just in case you need a reminder go on Plus Portals everything you
need to know about me and the upcoming school year is there. However, if you are a new parent or we have
never met by all means come in and see me before or after school and we can
talk about my expectations; just let me know that you are coming. Lastly, I am NOT doing the Study Skills
Program this year since a new elective has been offered that is basically what
I did, but I will be available for tutoring after school (except Math & Foreign
Language) if needed, but I like to wait till after Labor Day Weekend to start
that. I charge $25.00 per hour (3:15-4:15
PM).
Let’s have a wonderful and positive school year. J

Summer Vacation is Almost Over... Time for the Start of School Again.
Happy New School
Year!
Welcome
back…. As always I am excited for what new adventures we will have with
another school year at hand here at Cabrini. I have been at school
tutoring and getting ready for the year a little more every day. This
will be my 10th year here. Go Monarchs!
Here
are a couple reminders… The first day of school is August 22nd and
it is a half-day. Picture Day is the 24th. Also, I will be
doing my Remind 101 app again if you were in 7th grade last year the
link has changed and you will have re-register by going to http://www.remind.com/join/mrkerrs8
link this goes for all new upcoming 8th graders as well and then if
you are going to be in 7th grade the link is slightly different at http://www.remind.com/join/mrkerrs7
This is a simple process just enter your cell phone (students and parents) on
the website and they will send you a confirmation code on your cell phone then
you will be able to receive text messages from me about important and upcoming
events. Students will again be responsible for two science experiments
(one per semester) I actually made up the calendar today. I am going to
try something new and give all the dates prior the school starting so students
and parents will know what is available and plan. Personally, I would
stay away from the end of the semester because of exams. I hope this
helps.
